Clinical course and outcome

Patient progressed to ventilatory failure requiring prolonged invasive mechanical ventilation, needed for tracheostomy, transferred to a chronic care center

Patient with acute ventilatory failure, requiring invasive mechanical ventilation, with progressive clinical deterioration and multiple organ failure, that eventually led to death
